Children are usually seen in school or nursery but this may depend on their needs.

- Children and young people with communication difficulties associated with developmental delay, sensory impairments, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum condition, ADHD / ADD, attention and listening difficulties, speech and language delay or disorder, developmental language disorder (DLD).
- Parents of children and young people with communication difficulties.
- Nurseries and schools.

- Assessments of speech, language and communication needs
- Reports, including for EHC needs assessments.
- Individual speech and language therapy support.
- Parent and teacher consultations.
Parent – Child Interaction involves analysis of interactions with your child, feedback and coaching to support you to develop strategies that help their language and communication. We identify effective strategies and I coach you to use them. For example:
- Differentiating language to maximise your child’s learning.
- Using appropriate questioning e.g. through guided reading.
- Facilitative strategies to support communication.
- Responding to speech or language errors.
- Supporting speech sound development.
- Trouble-shooting behaviour needs associated with SLCN.
- Learning about the stages of speech and language development and what to expect.
What outcomes can I expect? You will become more confident in knowing how to support your child’s language and communication skills. Your child’s listening, talking and interaction will develop.



Direct one to one speech and language therapy sessions supporting speech, receptive language, expressive language and communication skills at all stages of development. There is an emphasis on functional language, interaction skills and social communication needs.





Behaviour and Communication support for children with social communication needs in association with Autistic Spectrum Condition, ADHD / ADD, learning difficulties and related conditions is available through a combination of parent consultation sessions and direct work with your child depending on their focus and attention skills. I trouble-shoot your child’s problem or challenging behaviours with you and we work out some solutions for you to try. Behaviour is communication.
What outcomes can I expect? Gains in your child’s communication skills should have a positive effect on their behaviour.

The service is immediate and flexible, with an emphasis on early intervention and working with parents. You can expect effective liaison with teachers and other professionals where necessary (for example other therapists working with your child). Intervention goals are discussed with parents and all therapy is evaluated. The type and frequency of intervention recommended depends on each child’s needs, capabilities and other types of support available to them.
